It’s been 5 years since we started our TekDelta adventure

It’s our anniversary! It’s been 5 years since we started our TekDelta adventure. On April 21, 2016, the first TekDelta workshop “Do’s & don’ts on corporate-startup collaboration” took place at Venture cafe in Rotterdam. On our way there, we proudly listened to BNR Nieuwsradio, where Paul de Krom (CEO TNO) and Sigrid Johannisse (former Director StartupDelta) announced the 3 to 4 month TekDelta pilot. The aim: learn how large organizations can optimally connect with the young tech world to accelerate innovation.

We started by making the IP and facilities of large organizations more accessible. By having large organizations join forces and working together lots of energy and new ideas emerged. On the other hand, startups showed great appreciation for our joint initiative to connect with them. As such, we decided to continue with an adapted proposition to further expand our network. In this next phase: “Startups get to make appointments with large organizations within 2 weeks via TekDelta”. This model worked for startups, but not for large organizations. There was not enough insight into the quality and strategic matching of startups. But “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligent”. Our current proposition and working method are based on all the lessons we have learned along the way. That is why we are proud to be where we are today:

  • a platform and quality filter overarching the various startup communities;
  • an organization that realizes qualitative and targeted matchmaking for collaboration between large companies, governments and young tech companies;
  • a community, where mutual knowledge sharing is stimulated in an open and accessible manner;

In short, a win-win-win: for our startups, large organizations and hub partners. With TekDelta we bring impact and accelerate social and economic transitions. Help seize opportunities. And convert threats into new social and/or economic possibilities. All this by working closely together.
